Using FTP with your account Print

Your FTP user can be used in an application called an FTP client, such as FileZilla or Cyberduck in order to log in and view the files on your account.
If you want to find details on how to set up an FTP user in an FTP program, you can click “Configure FTP Client". This option will be at the bottom of the page you used to create an FTP account, near the list of FTP accounts already created. You may use either your site's domain or the IP of your web site as your connection name/IP.

Your cPanel username and password is all you would use for an FTP login. If you create a user you must use username@yoursite.com as the FTP username and the password you create.

The manual settings section has information on what configurations allow you to access your account with FTP. You can enter this information in the appropriate places in your FTP client to connect. There are a few configuration files that can be used to help set this up for you in Filezilla Core FTP or Cyberduck if desired.
